New design IJN Fuso 1/200. 3D printed kit.

Dear Bryan,

this 3D printed model seems to fly togeather- faster than any Tamiya kit. ;)
What time did you invest till now?

Best wishes from the Berlin Card Yard, CHP

what is the approx. depth & width of the hull grooves as i do not think paint will fill them in?

Hi Brian,
Wow, that is really great progress, with a lot of filling.
Those guns on the main gun local range finders look a bit hazardous to operate on the real thing that is.

Cheers,
Stephen.

Hello friends,
Been at my hobby bench this week and working on the model. I have cleaned up and assembled the superstructure and turrets. The quality of the 3d printed parts are superb, showing all fine details including rivets.
I have applied a grey plastic primer to the pieces so I can see if any fine sanding or filler is required. Here’s a few photos of some assemblies in grey primer.

That's one impressive Pagoda structure there!

Hi there,
thought I would grab a minute to update my build log. I have spent many days filling over the deck with a 2 part epoxy filler to get rid of the inaccurate 3D printed deck planking . After sanding and smoothing everything out, I applied a grey primer coat to seal everything down.
I then planked over the surface with a generic 1/200 scale self adhesive timber deck and stained the wood in a grey wood stain. I was wanting the weathered appearance for the deck.
Here’s a few photos of my deck after the first coat of stain. I’m planning a second coat mixed with clear satin polyurethane varnish.

Decking looks good mate, but what's with the 'tiles' on the quarterdeck? They seem to have overly large gaps between them. I'm not familiar with the ship, so that may just be how it looked?
