La Belle 1684 - Caf Model 1:48 by Gennaro [COMPLETED BUILD]

Started to work on head rails. Nasty! After 8 unsuccessful attempts, managed to get something that is acceptable (to me). And this is just the beginning.
That painter's tape looks really nice. I'm tempted to leave it as is :) Many thanks for all the likes/loves and comments. To be continued.

I love the "clean" look of the headrails. Is that from your own wood stash or kit-supplied wood? It is no wonder that your bow lady looks so serene and contented.

Heinrich,
Headrails supplied in kit are, as Thomas pointed out in his build log, incorrect. They took the projected, not true view. So, I had no choice, but to build them myself. I used castello. Many thanks for your interest.

Finally managed to finish headrails and associated knees. Major pain in the a*s, might need to see a proctologist. Model has been permanently mounted, not far from completion. Many thanks for all your comments and likes. As always, much appreciated. Thanks for stopping by.

She does look like a completed and very well-made model. I like the wood contrast very much. Do you have plans for the next model kit or scratch?

Thanks, Jim. Next one will be scratch built - Hayling Hoy, plans by David Antscherl. Lovely stash of Castello and Black Hornbeam already arrived from our friend Sergey.

Okiedokie. As usual, the time difference between China and the US makes me the last to chirp. You have obtained very good geometry at the bow with the cross-railings on the beakhead and the cat-eyes are exquisite. Quick question: are the sheaves fixed - they look so perfect that it is almost as if they were honed from the same wood as the rest of the cat-eye.

A beautiful work! :) I like your "La Belle" very much! If the distance between us was not so great I would like to work with you in the same workshop. I'm sure we would complement each other well. :)

Get well soon for your pain and stay well!
This would be an awesome idea to have all folks working in a workshop next to each other! Thumbs-Up
