Hi,
I'm not sure that the translator is very precise here: are you referring to the ring that some guns have above the cascabel? In that case, this style of cannon did not have those during this period of time, they were introduced later.
The breeching rope either looped around the cascabel or had an eye splice. I opted for the first because it's easier to do.

Alright now I get what you're saying!
Actually, in this period of time the Spanish did not use that kind of carriage. This is one point I'm quite certain of because I've studied the sources and used original drawings for the carriages, which are designed by Rovira.

I'm using the plans by Ancre, I'd definitely not call them bad quality, rather the opposite.
They do have a few inconsistencies but overall they are very good.

Увы. Не могу с Вами согласиться. Тоже имею оригинальные чертежи этого фрегата и еще несколько других издательства Анкрэ. Махонеса сильно проигрывает в детализации и качестве проработки чертежей даже старым изданиям.
