There was criticism about the outer planks near the waterway. There really shouldn't be any sharp ends to the planks there. Regarding the thickness of the caulking. Currently, the planking is about 6.05 mm thick. With the cardboard glued on, it's about 6.35 mm. So, in scale, the caulking width is 14.4 mm. Not much for a real ship.I am with the same opinion... Deck #3 shown above look nice. The caulking is just right to me. A baseboard at the intersection of the wall and everything else are good (even a 1x1mm board will do). Keep in mind that finishing, especially with oil, will enhance caulking a little more. Oil darkens end-grain/side more than flat area. With poly, it will look pretty much the same. your preference. Here finishing with Linseed oil (before and after):
