Model Airways Sopwith Camel [COMPLETED BUILD]

A nicely executed Model with very nicely executed pictures! Well done, Donnie.
Regards, Peter

Looks great Donnie! I like how it turned out.
I have to agree with you, the metal parts are not very well cast and they are not easily bonded to wood or themselves, and they bend or break easily. It was a challenging model for sure! I would have preferred resin parts that would have more realistic detail and could easily be painted to look metal.

Can you imagine having a gas tank to protect you from being shot in the back.
Love be your model. I see no mistakes or faults
Best regards
Ted

I just ordered this kit. I am not sure when I will start on it, but just a heads up.

IMPORTANT SUGGESTION:
It might be worth your while to take inventory of all the parts. I had some missing, and some deformed. Mostly metal. However, M.E. replaced them with no problem. I did not take inventory and wished I had. If you do, then it is wise as you can get all the replacements you need at one time. It is a long process, but in the end it is worth it.
I just ordered the Curtiss JN-4D Jenny. I was looking around to try and find wooden airplane builds, but they are few and far between what I am used to with our ships.

I found the same to be true on my Nieuport from the same manufacturer.

That’s turned out very well Donnie. The result justifies the work you put in to
overcome the shortcomings of the kit.

I ordered the Curtiss JN-4D Jenny and am going through the inventory today. The Britannia Metal parts are really poorly made. It appears that the Instruction manual was printed on a worn out laser printer. So many of the pieces are not marked correctly. Many laser cut parts and reversed laser etched lettering, so I have to hold them up to a mirror to read them. Not really, but I am very disappointed in the quality so far. There are many of the metal parts that are supposed to be round, but have flat edges on some of them.

When I complete the inventory, I will update this information. Also, has anyone built this plane before and is there any build information out there. I have not found any for this plane.
