Workshops My shipyard/your shipyard

Hi Tobias,
You have a beautifully organized workshop and all that strip wood in stock, wow.
The large blue box hanging off the ceiling, is that an Air purifier?

Cheers,
Stephen.

Hi Stephen, Thanks. Yes it is the air purifier from Scheppach. The link to the Scheppach purifier is above. I am very happy with it.
I hope it helps you.

Hello everyone,

I built my new workshop in January 2022, I think some of you can still remember it. Since then, one or two machines have been added (lathe, 2nd milling machine, etc.), also more wood and so a lot had to be changed. It all started with me rebuilding the construction table to have more space for my wood. One thing led to another and so I decided to organize everything a little better and make it more friendly. See for yourself.

Awesome BUT! where's the beer fridge... I don't see a wine rack or beer fridge. Dammit, that's a deprived work area. ---- cheers.

Guys, thanks for all the positive messages about my workshop, now for the often asked question of fridge, beer cooler or wine rack, TV or sleeping area. Well there is no sleeping area, although I do have a wine cooler in my kitchen, beer is not my drink so I don't have any in the house but there is a compartment where I can keep my drinks.

congratulations my dear friend for your new workshop :)Okay

My shop. Heated one car garage. Every square foot of wall space is taken. Other power tools are stashed away out of sight, mill and lathe etc. I have other small tables I can set up if needed. I’d like to keep one in the center but it’s always in the way. Under the blanket on the desk is my Ham radio equipment. I’m W2PAA. Bench is bare waiting for the next project.

I've moved a lot, and seldom had space for a proper shop. The closest I came was a12x30 foot shed which had a window air-conditioner, and a wood stove I put in.

But things happened and I wound up moving again, this time into an attached garage, that was a smaller space with no heat or AC.
The proverbial stuffing 20 pounds into a 10 pound bag.

I don't just do model work in there, so it's cluttered. I put new shelving on two walls and wire shelves for models to sit on on another wall, but junk gets tossed in and adds to the clutter. I actually do a lot of work in the driveway, or by moving the stuff at the garage door out into the driveway; which makes me far too weather dependent. It also has an insufficient electrical source. I can't run a saw and dust collection at the same time or the breaker pops. I've wanted to put in a sub-panel, but that's yet to happen because a licensed person has the run the cable from the main panel, and that's a bit out of my pay-grade.

During Winter, my shop becomes the annex to the refrigerator since it's too cold to work with glue, paint, or resin.

If it'll warm up some, hopefully in February, a lot will get tossed, given away, sent to the church yard sale, and cleaned out, so I can finally move around out there again. If I can get the sub-panel installed, I'll put a window AC/Heater in my one window and hopefully get year-round use of my "shop" at last.

Mine is certainly nothing to brag about. I live in an apartment with a wife and kid, so I only have a small desk area that the Mrs. allows in, of all places, our bedroom.

It used to be my work desk, but I rarely bring my work home these days anyway. So for now, it’s my shipyard. So if anyone thinks they don’t have the space, I can safely say that all you need is about 24 x 40 inches and a bit of creative.
