Purchased shortly ago / sthg new in your workshop -> present it here

I bought this stuff and will try it on the La Salamandre.
It is like a very stiff gauze and should according the advertisment produce a smooth surface.
After use I will write my experience here in the forum....
BTW: The manufacturer Lux-Tools is a daughter company of OBI, an austrian (or german?) hardware store, so I guess it is only available in these stores.
But I guess also other brands have such kind of sanding gauze.....

Interessting. Is ther a difference to sandigpaper or steelwool ?

Maybe this normal sponge for the kitchen can be useful for a finish on the wood ? It has until three different surfaces for polish.

These gauze I bought from Lux-tools is different to these dish-washing stuff, which you mentioned. It is very hard and stiff so it is realy sanding the wood.
You can not compare these tings.......I will show asap the use and result

G'day Paul
I also got the set of plank shapers from frontline Hobbies in Newcastle via ebay.
It took only 3 days to arrive. Amazon is getting difficult to get stuff from now.

Tks Greg yeh AM sucks here. I used to get some stuff from US but now its Ebay & Aliexpress for me.
Just ordered a cheap 2417 CNC kit.on Ebay. ( I can hear the "whats that? youve orederd now!" already)
Waiting for to be delivered. Will do review when it comes.

I bought this set of fine micro carving chisels. May try my hand at carving experiments. These are very nice tools for the price. Made of proper steel, very sharp, well made and in an elegant box. These will be easy to keep sharp. 12 different chisels of various profiles between 1mm and 2mm.
Here is the Ebay listing.

I also got a set some weeks ago - so we both can learn the carving now - we need some teacher, or tutorials how to start this new experiment.
BTW: the link is showing different carbing set, than shown on the photo of your post - maybe you can check

G'day Paul
That's a nice set of chisels you got there. I'm looking forward to some creative pieces of art in the future.

Yes I saw your set. Very nice hand made tools you bought. I thought I may buy some too to try when I have the time. Got the idea from you. The ones I bought can be bought in two different colours. Black or brown.

Today I received my ordered nails and wire to make the necessary nails and bolts on my La Salamandre.
I received copper, steel and brass nails in thicknesses of 0,6 to 0,9mm.
After some trials I will decide which one I will use for the different elements of the ship.

G'day all
This Sunday in Australia is Father's Day. And my lovely wife bought me 2 presents.
This first one is a VR display for my Note 8.

I can tell you it's amazing. One app that can run on this Virtual Reality Display is a CAD preview. You can put any CAD 3D model and you can 'walk' around it and view it in 3D every which way.
The next toy from my wife is a BOSCH SAW STATION.

This toy works with a BOSCH jig saw and my boys are getting me one for Sunday.
The best way so explain how it works is by showing you a video.
So I would like to wish you all a very happy FATHER'S DAY for 2018.
Happymodeling and havagoodone
