Just received my Byrnes Thickness Sander. As with all Byrnes tools this one is robust, smooth running and accurate. Using two 3" wide drums you can have a coarse grit on one side to remove lots of material and then run it through the finer grit to fine tune the thickness. Also the fines produced from sanding when mixed with some adhesive make for a great filler which matches the wood being used for the build. (That's, of course for those of us who don't do a perfect job when planking) You can also run a 6" wide belt of needed for wider pieces.Thickness sander2400.jpg

I'm currently working on a 1:95 scale Nantucket lightship by Lindberg when I saw this 1;60 scale Shrimp boat by Lindberg online. Do I need another kit? Not really. Did I buy it? Of course. Not sure if $24.00 total was a good deal for this unopened kit, but I sure do love shrimp!

I may try to do a version of Forest Gump's "Jenny" on this one.
