San Bartolomé - Pavel Nikitin [COMPLETED BUILD]

I have finished the ratlines and shrouds on the lower part of the rigging.
It is important to do this before putting on the top of the masts. Through setbacks I am learning.

He terminado con los flechastes y los obenques de la parte inferior de la arboladura. Es importante hacerlo antes de poner la parte superior de los mástiles. A base de tropiezos voy aprendiendo

I finished with Pavel Nikitin's Saint Bartholomew. I had a good time building it, I stumbled and I learned, I regret that I couldn't go after someone to build it and that I saw other solutions for some problems I found, but anyway I am very happy with the result.
What I don't like very much are the flags, I think they detract from the boat, I will probably remove them20240531_162757.jpg20240531_162807.jpg20240531_162814.jpg20240531_162823.jpg20240531_162830.jpg20240531_162836.jpg20240531_162850.jpg20240531_162903.jpg20240531_162906.jpg20240531_162919.jpg20240531_162936.jpg20240531_163004.jpg20240531_163013.jpg20240531_163022.jpg20240531_163036.jpg20240531_163052.jpg20240531_163108.jpg20240531_163121.jpg20240531_163138.jpg20240531_163141.jpg20240531_163153.jpg20240531_163222.jpg20240531_163228.jpg20240531_163244.jpg20240531_163258.jpg

Felicitaciones excelente trabajo. ¿Cuánto tiempo diría que te tomó? Estoy construyendo el mismo kit.
I started with it in September 2023, I don't know how many hours, I do know that in my thirty-five years making models I have never had so much fun, perhaps that is why I have dedicated more hours than to other projects, which normally take me a year to finish.

Congratulations awesome job. How long would say it took you? I am building the same kit.
Jagpilot, I have to congratulate you, because I follow your work and I really like it, there are things that after seeing you, I would have done differently, better, but that's the way things are, I have gone ahead and I have not been able see anyone to learn from them. I repeat the congratulations, your work is better than mine

Thank you for the compliment. I think yours looks fantastic. It is a tricky kit to get everything to fit cohesively.
Even though all the parts are laser cut there is still a lot cutting, shaping, sanding to make it look good. And you did a great job.

I'm done with the masts and bowsprits, they may not look quite aligned because they are not fixed yet, waiting for the yards to readjust. I'm really liking this project a lot.

I am really impressed with your model! Well done Sir! However, I have never seen this kit sold on the market. Who manufactures it?

Bill

Good morning. Wow this is really very good. Lovely model. Cheers Grant

Stunning work. Thank you for showing so many pictures

Your build looks so amazing. You should be very proud! I am just finishing prepping the masts and yardarms and have one question: on page 166 of the instructions it show the main and fore top mast each made of three pieces, 21,21,22, and 20,20 and 19. But in the parts I have 4 sections for each: 21,21,22,22 and 20,20,19,19. Is it correct to use all 4, or just the three sections? It looks in your pictures like you used 4 pieces each, but I wanted to see as you have successfully finished the model. Thanks for any help.

Thanks Freddie. I did use all four pieces I had available, as I seem to remember that testing before gluing was the best way to get it to the rounded shape I wanted. In any case, you have to shape it with sandpaper afterwards, so in my opinion it's always better to have some wood left over. I hope you enjoy the project as much as I did. I hope the translator did a good job.

Gracias Freddie.

Wonderful, thanks for sharing it. It turned out great on you.

If I didn't know that these kits existed, I would think that you had taken a votive offering from a church. It is a work of art, it will not go unnoticed wherever you put it.

Salud ;)
