Yes paper or card board for lantarns. Its also written in the description on aliexpress. Its a big puzzle sometimes. They changed a lot in the materials and items and thats not chanced in the manual or the parts you need are not in the kit. Also lot of brass items are replaced with wood that you have to paint gold. But it was a cheap kit and i bought it to get more experians.

hi pat, hope you are feeling better. going back and rereading your build log. you said that you sanded bow blocks with frames 1,2 and 3. how did you do this? did you clamp them all together and sand them? how did you com up with the shape for them? thanks and hope you can help me out on how to do this. thanks terry
 
Terry as you can see i sanded the edges a bit round so you can bent the planking better around the bow. You do it when everything is installed and then you can take a plank and try if i goes smoothly around the ribs. Infact you have to do this with all the ribs to see if your planking goes smooth without bumps before you start glueing the planks to the ribs. I have send you a link of ocre. They have a lot of movies about planking, sanding and building the ship. Verry usefull. Also about rigging etc.

At the bottom of your post you have the button "Edit" - than you can change, delete etc. inside your own post, and afterwards the button "Save" - that´s it
 
Yesterday and todays work. Build the frame for the 2 little boats and the 3 standards beside the cratings. Sorry forgot the names . Dont know if its normal after heart attack that i feel a lot of change in emotions. By example have let Go a lot of control and perfection and feel like to have more enyoing feeling. See what the Day brings. go with the flow.

Update. Finished the last little things on the ship. Its now ready for the buyer. Het wants to do the rigging. He is also buying the trinidad. My wife and son gave me the soeverein of the seas for my birthday two weeks ago and i started yesterday with it. The buyer of the other ships made a reservation on it.

Was afraid that i lost the joy to build . Had a little trauma from the attack. Was down for couple of weeks and was again taken to hospital with ambulance. The Joy is back and started also the soeverein dont know if its nesesery to start building log because there are a lot of sovereign logs here now.
