Even if you look at books, the hull shapes are different, so you just have to figure it out yourself in the end.

Thank you for your kind words.
I've been building these for about four or five years now, and I've grown so used to them that I can't even tell anymore where the wabi ends and the sabi begins...
It feels like I've become the Silent Mary herself, worn smooth by years of use.
The running rigging is still a work in progress.
I'll keep at it.

They said it would be in stock in about a week...
Well, I'll just wait patiently.

I got a call saying the thread I ordered had arrived, so I went and bought it.
The thread I was running low on had been used for running rigging, so there was even less left. I'm glad the thread arrived.

Fore Topgallant sail's running rigging, including braces, lift, and bowlines.


Fore topsail braces and running rigging such as lifts and bowlines.


Fore Course braces and running rigging such as lift lines, bowlines, and buntlines.


The bow section is also cluttered with running rigging. I'll look into the Martingale stays before rigging them.
For now, I think I've got the basic running rigging done.

Once the basic rigging is complete, it's time for test shots.

While filming, I thought... it'd be great if Salazar and the Spanish marines were aboard... so I decided to create Salazar and his entourage, along with the sailors and Spanish marines operating the cannons.
I'll work on it when I have free time.
I'll need to make a small boat too.

Infelizmente, nenhum fabricante lançou um kit para o Silent Mary.
É uma grande pena.
Portanto, construí-lo do zero é a única opção.
Se decidir construí-lo do zero, por favor, utilize este registo de construção.

Being a battleship, it's rather imposing.
It's a ship that appeared in an entertainment film for one or two minutes.
In the film, it entered the Devil's Triangle and became a cursed ship.
The model is the Silent Mary before it was cursed.

I see. I've not seen the film.

The fact that you have scratch built this is just overwhelmingly impressive. It looks like a very high-quality property that would have been made for a major action film in the days before CGI. I'll be pouring through the whole thread in the coming days. Thanks so much for keeping a detailed log.

You know I'm a huge fan of your Silent Mary. It's amazingly well done. One really has to admire what you've built without any ship plans.

I think you deserve my utmost respect. Thank you for showing us and thank you for seeing the project through to completion.

I do have one small request, though: please take some more beautiful photos with the sea as a backdrop. It makes the Silent Mary look even more impressive...

You mentioned Tokyu Hands in one of your earlier posts. I used to visit Tokyu Hands quite often when I used to live in Tokyo. Also Joyful Honda. I wish I hd something like Tokyu hands where I am now living.

I will continue to watch your build with great interest. Gambatte chodai!

I spent six months in Tokyo in the 1990s. Loved visiting Tokyu Hands. I bought my first Japanese Pagoda model there (Hōryū-ji Goju-no-tō).
