Soleil Royal - Heller 1/100 Back to work!

The 30 twelve pounders are ready for the next stage!

Now, I will super detail 16 of them to later add the tackles and breachings. Fortunately don’t need to work all 30, only half of them are visible…

I have ordered some blocks (1,5mm and 2mm) from Dry-Dock Models in Canada. Pretty expensive for Europe, but I hope it will worth it. Their products do look very, very good. I’ll wait and see.

Just got my order from Dry-Dock Models.

Pretty amazing product, that’s all I can say!

It probably costs more than gold per weight, but it sure worth it.

I wish I have more money, so I could buy all their stock…

I normally use blocks from Falkonet in Russia, witch are also very good, but these boxwood ones are simply from a different level.

Let’s see how many lenses would I need to rig the 1,5mm ones…

WOW - especially the violin-blocks are extremly good - but off course also the "normal" ones

Probably the two most single important elements of a sailing ship are the anchor and the rudder, for the first, a vessel like Soleil Royal would have around five or six of different sizes, for the second it only have one. Because of this, the rudder had different kinds of security ropes such as the pendants, in order to minimize the risk of loosing it… something like this:

As I need to shift my focus out of the guns works, this is so time consuming and repetitive, that if I just don’t give my self a break, I’ll risk become demotivated. That’s why I decide to conclude the rudder works. There are so many working fronts on a project like this, that I can go from one to another trying not to get bored..

This is how it looks now:

Now, back to the guns…
