Yes indeed. I'm marking out the lines.are you talking about doing work as shown in pictures 042 to 044?
what are you going to use to make those strips?
on the strips, what you are proposing is to thick & wrong shape. look at that picture closely & remember your model is 1/200 scale.
i presume your rudder is glued in place, correct?
Hi Brian,O.K , yes you are probably correct about the thickness. I will trim them down. Rudder has been glued so I am good with how it is.
Did the model builder above add docking keels to his model ? I would like to see how he did that modification.
Brian,Just been modifying the propeller shaft housing to a more tapered profile. I have marked out and removed the bulge on the hull with my Dremel.
I still have more sandpapering and filler to get things looking right.

Brian,
How did you modify the prop shaft exit points? Just sanding and putty and mucho sanding?
I have seen that method used by other modellers to replicate the strips, but I feel it was on smaller scale models (1/350 perhaps). Not sure it would work on 1/200 scale without quite a few paint layers were applied; however, I stand to be corrected.Steve & Bryian, do you both have or can acquire both scotch tape & masking tape to do an experiment. the experiment involves cutting narrow width strips of tape to simulate the strips on the real ship's blisters to see which tape appears to have the right thickness at the approximate scale sight distance. if still to thick then can use paint done in layers to get the approximate correct thickness.
Bryian, don't do anymore painting of the kit til you get all the corrections that you want to do.
