on Sept.13 2022 you added the pictures of my Bismarck to the completed models showcase. I recently finished the Confederacy, is there a way to submit the pictures to the gallery without the detour over the build log?

Greetings, Werner! Why would you submit your model to the gallery without showing us the images in the complete model section log? The gallery limits images to be displayed, while the Completed Build log images, unlimited
 
In addition - the Showcase Gallery is a modified code that I enter manually. Also, the ship or model images have been cropped, and manipulated, chosen from the best of each submission. In other words, let say a modeler submits 25 images on the "completed section" --- those models are just raw photos --- while some are excellent photography and need very little to no modification, some are not. Some or more than other submissions of models are not good shots - poor lighting - no suitable background and therefore, I have to crop - resize, etc. It is a time consuming process - however, I have been doing this service for the forum ever since it began - as a matter of fact, when SOS was NOT a forum, but just a web page, I would showcase models that people sent me. Yes, at one time, SOS was just a basic website with NO forum. It was a basic web site for about 2 to 3 years before the forum started. This was about circa 2009 or earlier.

I have entertained the idea of just ending the Gallery with no more submissions as I am not sure if people even visit the links (which there are now 23 pages with 40 ships on each page). Nor am I sure that people really are taking advantage of the images so that they can at least be used for documentation and research on how others built their models.

So, the models are not there just to "show off" a persons work, but also (mainly) to help others see how someone else built theirs for "reference".

Everything is ok.....I just thought it wouldn´t make sense to present the same pictures both in the gallery AND in the completed models section log, but you are right!
