The Ocean going rescue tug, HMT Rollcall W81 1920, Built using Caldercraft's Resolve grp hull and plans (much modified).

Hi Grant, is it still nice and warm down there in Cape Town? its freezing here! Strangely I really like the little gun too. I usually don't have much good to say about white metal castings.

Six nations start soon.
Cheers JJ..
Good morning Jack. Yes we have some warm weather 27 to 32• on average. Just been a very windy summer, the Cape Doctor (it’s what we call the SE wind as we have clear skies, no pollution most of the time) has been pumping. Cheers Grant

Tomorrow I celebrates my seventh birthday, I share the day with Kyrgyzstan where the country celebrates its 15th National Hat Day, easy gets harder every day!
Fear not though for I have made some little progress with Rollcall and here are the pics to prove it.

I have made some little progress with Rollcall and thought I would share some pics., I have just about compleated the major components that sit on thr focastle and wash deck. Some are 'weathered' a bit and look out of contex, they will most likley change as I try to balance the overall finish, (the degree of weathering is still undecided), The major change to the Resolve kit is the stern platform. the kit has it as a wooden platform with wooden slats either side of the 50 cwt. anchor which they have sitting in what looks like a wash shrunk sarcophagus. This is nothing like the real thing, I hope I am a little closer. Bridge and flying bridge next.

Good morning Jack. Exciting 6 nations final weekend. You must have been cheering for England (first and last time ROTF) after your Scotland win. France got some lucky decisions......... @Gilbertm is a happy gentleman tho.

Awesome modelling as always. I am a huge fan of your weathering so, for me, I would be keen on that approach more.

Cheers Grant

Hi Grant, Having an English wife I allways cheer on England~ honest;). Sure the English have always held the best intrest of the Irish close to their hearts. Though I somehow knew it would turn out as it did. Still it was a fine effort.

As to the weathering and since this would not be my favorite build I think I might experiment a bit, Tug boats, even RN ones whould not been the cleanest of beasts.

All the best Jack.

Very nice additions, Jack. The railing around the platform and anchor platform looks ‘spot on’.
Regards, Peter
