Hello Eric, you will need a very sharp and thin blade of 0,25 ~ 0.3mm to slice. The thick blade will destroy. Also, the blade should be just a bit more, then actual material to cut. This will save the teeth sharpness.

Yeah, most everything seems to work fine, it's just when I go to slice the individual slats loose that all the teeth of the comb get destroyed. I'll see what I can do about getting another blade for that part. Any reccommendations? I am currently using the blade that came with the Proxxon FET.
 
How this timber flexible, say around the bow section?
This yellowheart planking here is about 2.5 mm thick and still has some flexibility to it. I would think that a thinner plank, with some steaming might be flexible enough to turn the bow. It is dense though, so it might take some experimentation.
