Outstanding craftmanship with excellent detailing and finishing work. "Well Done"!

Bert Shoemaker (FTG-3) USS Preble (DLG-15) 1960--1962
Thank you, with help from a friend learned how to design photoetching, molding of resin and pewter, and vacuum forming. Scratchbuilding is a learning process.

prop shafts should be same color as lower half of hull as they are made from steel not bronze.

Thank you, since I was a young boy visiting museums the Cadillac of US naval ship models have been built for display by Gibbs & Cox Naval Architectrure. That one day I could build a model that in some small way would bring the visual appeal I so enjoyed. Yes in the real world the shafts are of hull red, but in the display world they chose jewelry as with USS Gearing.

USS Coates building progress, fitting the K-guns, adding color to the forward structure, and time to make the big gun out of resin. The forward mount pedistal was a challenge, my grandson helped my with the math formula for sheer & camber.
