USS Constitution from Scientific Models

Oh, great! Now that I’ve finished sewing all my reefs, I ran across a video from Wooden Ship Modeling for Dummies showing how to put on reefs without sewing. That probably would have saved me days. He precuts them to the same length and then attaches them with ca.
I'm somewhat skittish about using CA as a shortcut. To each his own, but it would take a lot for me to try it.

Thanks for posting this, mate. I suspect I'm not the only member of this forum who cut his model shipwright teeth on Scientific (and similar quality) kits as a callow "yout."

It is a very beautiful model! I have always believed that Scientific models could be made into excellent models if the builder puts the time and effort into them. Outstanding job!

I agree with this Bill. Vic is pulling off a great model. I still can’t believe how small this is. Cheers Grant

Thanks, Grant. Does it get cold in winter down there? Texas is scorching this time of year normally. But we’re getting a lot of rain to cool things off this month.
Good afternoon Vic. For us it has been freezing lately. I guess it is relative but 6•C min to 17•C. Plenty of rain for days as the cold fronts and storms come in. We are happy with the rain as we often have water shortages down here in CTN. The good news is I have shipyard time :D. I could do with some of the Texas heat right nowROTF. Cheers Grant

Well, the weather up here is dismally hot. New England is supposed to have a milder climate but has been more southern the past seven years. I want my mild summers again! And I want a real winter here as well.
