Ontzettend bedankt, Herman! (I’ve been reading the Bible in Dutch lately. When reading, I find it like a cross between German and English. But I’m sure I would have difficulty following it when it is spoken.) And you’re right. It is a tough scale to work with.
Once you've mastered that you can try an old Statenbijbel in old Dutch.
When I was in Amsterdam I could actually follow a conversation in Dutch fairly well because I speak a smattering of German - you probably speak German better than I do so I bet you'd get along famously.
Dutch Bible? Are you a 'student' of Jacob Arminius? Hmm. I rather doubt it, but maybe...
No, but I only have two-and-a-half petals of the tulip. I had some friends in New York who spoke Friesian. I could read their Bible pretty easily.

My next project will be the HMY Fubbs stern section produced by Mike Shanks, and Jodie (MystRacing) at Weaselworks. They produced a limited number of kits. I got mine from DON FARR before he passed away. I know he wasn’t able to begin it, so I’ll do my best to honor him by completing it for him. Good night and God bless.

When I presented the ship to my friend, he gave me a picture of the USS Alliance defeating the HMS Sybil during the last naval engagement of the Revolutionary War. This scrimshaw artwork is on woolly mammoth tusk, resting on a mammoth tusk and rosewood base. The artist is Dan Cronan.

The only issue that I have with this kit is that the Spar Deck does not include carronades. Yet, I believe that the USS Constitution originally mounted 9 lb carriage mounts but then the paint colors should reflect her very early in her career.
Wonderful job on this kit! I apologize for not having participated in the past year but both my wife and I have been in and out of hospitals. Well done, Vic!
