USS Constitution - very old Mamoli kit - by first time builder - build log

Need help desperately. The stern blocks (part 37) appear in the drawing to be rounded, but nowhere in the instructions does it mention rounded the stern blocks.
I can see that this is necessary, but if start sanding the blocks and I am wrong I don't see how I can recover.20210226_133437.jpg20210226_133437.jpg20210226_133657.jpg

Rounded the blocks (parts 37) and shaped them to conform to rib #19. I hope this what I was supposed to do.
Believe it or not I am having fun. I just wish I could work on it more than 2 hours a day (due to my injuries and surgeries).

Working away

Made a major mistake on the transom. I was supposed to leave a 3mm gap between the blocks (part 37) and I didn't. This meant the stern was short. I redid by adding 2 - 3mm and 1 -5mm strip to each side of where the rudder goes. Also, I had to yet out the last 4 strip (2 on each side). Still having gun!!

As the backdrop to your POB it looks like a very nice antique wood desk or file cabinet with the brass pulls and label holders. . . oh for such quality in this day and age. Rich (PT-2)

It is a solid oak desk I have had for about 40 years. It is in my bedroom near my bed. I have to frequently lay down to rest my back, so the arrangement works in my favor.

Always a lot of tweaks in my build such as yours. I think it’s common and as we learn the ropes, we less and less surprises. Just my thoughts...

Still working on my model. Fell again and broke a rib so I can not work on it very long at a time. The stern section has really been difficult. Still learning what I can and can not do.

We are all learning or experiencing what to do and not to do. Part of the voyage of aging. Rich
