If you can wait for Byrnes to get back up and running, i suggest that you wait. I have a Proxxon, Preac, Byrnes and there is just no comparison. I have all of Jims desk top tools and they are in a class of their own. The Proxxon fence leaves a lot to be desired. If a Preac comes up for sale with accessories it is also worth purchasing. Better yet if it has the upgraded motor. I still use mine every week .

Might I suggest one of the admins change the name of this thread if it is going to remain active? It feels rather insensitive in light of the current state of things.
