@Heinrich , Many thanks for taking time in your busy schedule to let us know you're still "Alive and Kicking". Your schedule sounds horrendous, I've been retired so long that I have trouble remembering working for a living. Hopefully my bumbling build log will give you a chuckle next time you have an opportunity for a quick look.

Dear Friends: @RDN1954 @Daniel20 @rtibbs @GrantTyler and obviously Jan.

Still alive, still kicking and working 18-hour days. No more kayaking, shipbuilding or anything of the kind - work has made H a very dull boy. The International Department of the school has literally doubled and with increasingly closer ties between Singapore and China, our school, being a Singaporean venture, is very much at the center of collaborative education projects between the Nantong local government and the national government of Singapore. As Head of the International Department and Marketing these projects are all my responsibility in addition to the daily running of the school.
It’s nice to read/hear from you in one of the log’s on the SoS, Heinrich. Just browse from time to time on the SoS for relaxation/distraction.
Regards, Peter

That is fantastic Heinrich. Plenty work and no ship building however sounds like you landed a great opportunity and the work will pay off. Stay in touch with us "crazies" who like to play with little wooden ships. Mostly enjoy the responsibility and challenges which are presented with this opportunity. Cheers Grant

Best wishes Heinrich, thanks for the update and look forward to hearing from you more when you can.

I’ve been lurking in the background popping in and out to read various logs when I could, recovering from a Covid shot and midweek Flu shot. So a minor log update.

The plan, it looked simple enough on paper. BUT

This is where it actually had to go. The first four attempts were a disaster. I finally managed it.
No bad words this time, because of the ache from the Covid shot or the Flu shot or the shipbuilding, a lot of Tylenol was required.
,
A Sunday morning chuckle for all of you.

How I leveled the yardarm. Sort of a teeter totter :D

ARGH, RIGGING.

The saga continues. One Foremast yardarm rigging sequence done.

Working on Foremast yardarm number two. Big fat fingers and not so keen eyesight slows down the process, nevertheless I'm persistent.

Good evening Jan. It’s good to see your WB progressing. I think we all have that love/hate relationship with rigging….depending which way the yardarm swings;). Looking good. Cheers Grant

Hi Grant, thanks for checking in.

Indeed it's not one of my favorite things to do. 4mm and 5mm blocks test the limited ability of my big fumbling fingers. To boot a few of the blocks needed to be "reamed" to clear the holes drilled in them. That is another adventure in itself. The best part is I can see the light at the end of the WB build tunnel.

With a steady pace, working from mast to mast ........ It's looking nice, Jan.

I've noticed that the pictures are getting farther and farther away as the rigging continues...coincidence? ROTF
No,No, it's that time of year when the Admiral swaps summer things for winter. I have to find a spot where I can take a quick photo. My little workshop is currently her domain.
