YQ Bluenose Ted R

I can't find the mast hoops in the Instruction book. How many do I make for each top mast?
I'm making extras and selecting those that come out the best. I had 12 extras on the lowers.
This has turned out to be one of the more enjoyable parts of my build.
Happy modeling

I'm trying to install the capstan motor box and anchor well. The parts don't fit according to the plans. I think the stove pipe hole may have been in the wrong locationIMG20241003190730.jpgIMG20241003190722.jpg

The stove pipe looks to be correct the windlass motor box looks like it needs to go towards the bow approx. 5mm maybe 6mm.

Notice the aft end of my box is 3 or 4mm forward of the stove pipe. I have a gear coming out of my box that meshes with the main gear of the windlass.

Thank you Daniel.
A few more pieces and my deck will be completed.

I've made another error. I mistakenly thought that the bowsprit was shorter than it actually is. I have another dowel. (Thanks to the eBay scammer that tried to sell me leftovers as a 1847 Harvey kit.). It's pretty close on color but almost double in diameter.
I will try to make another.
The part that goes.further back is covered with a plate disguising the true length.
Or maybe I'm just an idiot again
Happy modeling

Actually Ted, the bowsprit doesn't start from the bits fwd, the bits being the two posts, adjacent to the holes for the anchor davits, but from the Samson post, immediately fwd of the winch.
(While I slightly modified the bowsprit itself, the installation is pretty much as YQ prescribed.)
Maybe it's beneficial to compare YQ's drawings with your bowsprit install.

Thank you. I've already made a replacement. Drilling it just now for the bolts.
Best regards
Ted

Blunder du jour. While drilling a hole to secure the back of the bowsprit I accidentally twisted it so the the pre drilled hole for the rigging was twisted out of vertical.
Tore it out and reinstalled.
Happy modeling

I'm ready to install the dorys to the deck. I don't know what knot is used to secure the dorys to the racks. I can't imagine they would size the ends due to time constraints and convience.
Happy modeling,
Ted
