ZHL Black Pearl Golden Edition 2016

Welp I received my airbrush hose from amazon today. The movers lost my original one and I didn’t realize it till I went to weather my sails.
For folks new to airbrushing this is my setup. Air compressor that I can adjust the pressure on with water trap (purchased separately). I like the 10 foot air hose and my Badger airbrush.
I mix the colors for the weathering, I used acrylic paint and it is very important after mixing to strain the paint. As you can see there is all kinds of gunk in acrylics especially after they are a couple years old. You don’t want that in your airbrush.
After testing the color on a scrap of canvas do a light spray on the front and back of the sails and keep adding more till you get the desired look you want.
Looks better in person than it shows in the pictures. B20DEB02-99DA-4576-B683-C7ECB8C1C358.jpeg57D988A7-B858-4678-BB09-B2A63417BC5A.jpeg818C909B-891C-4721-89C1-3C8655D3D868.jpegFFBB3F77-7C27-47E3-9485-AE40B31289D3.jpeg

Starting on the rigging now. Frustrating and comical at the same time. Having a muscle disease I look more like Jerry Lewis in one of his movies as I try tying knots. When I first started this build I had expectations of a museum quality build but these drawings are more like the reality of what I am doing. Ha ha what pirate ship or war ship stayed in pristine condition? Anyway I am plugging along. 5F062A4F-0051-47AF-8EAD-388F6A49D265.jpeg19B96A27-F4B4-4D83-9979-4045D094F877.jpeg5951CF27-D90B-48EE-B7E7-115B69D245C5.jpeg9D8DF08E-66FB-4111-9812-19853E2144D1.jpeg

Looks good to me @Jay ....you are a few steps ahead of me on my BP build and I am following you with great interest. Keep it up.

The rigging keeps my arthritic thumbs nimble:confused:Pirate Flag
For me it’s more like when the super glue sets and you see the parts you glued are in the wrong position.
Were you Air Force? Lackland basic training?

Lackland/Medina Officer Training School. I was a 90-day blunder. Navigator and bombardier (radar navigator) on the B-52 at Minot, North Dakota. Later, I taught at the Combat Crew Training School at Castle AFB in Atwater, CA. Then I was a staff officer on the Joint Strategic Planning Staff at Offutt AFB in Bellevue, NE. After leaving the service, I taught high school for 12 years and was a principal for another 12. Finally, I'm back home in TEXAS! And retired! I know what you mean about the body parts. At least the glue is still holding together for a while longer. And we're doing something we enjoy. Have a blessed day, Jay!

Loved the BUFF but I was a Phantom Phixer.

Welp I installed the mainmast and am doing some of the running rigging. Those of you that can do a good job with that I hold in high regard. It’s a real struggle for me. Tomorrow we are supposed to get really heavy rain from the hurricane so it should be cooler upstairs to work some more on the rigging if the power doesn’t go out.87EE0396-5DCB-484D-9797-B06818176455.jpeg1484174D-4E62-40FB-A4A3-FDCF234FAC42.jpegA1006C12-5BE1-4BD0-9D1D-89F7837388CF.jpeg
