ZHL Misticque

Hi John

I have actually seen one ZHL build in person and remember mention of the tapered planks. Can you try and get a close up detailed shot of the planks.

The more I hear about the ZHL kits and the quality, the more it makes me want to buy one in the future.

From what I have seen and heard they far surpass the quality of US and EU kits available.

Hi Geoff

It is a very nice kit from ZHL.

Nice wood and the laser cutting is the best I have seen.

Just one thing that I was disappointed in is the hull decorations they are made of wood so have to paint them gold.
But hey it did not cost that much.

Very nice. Can't wait to see it take shape.
Its great to see the diversity of kits being built at present. Roll on more of something different. We all learn and see a little more.

Hi all

Help
I glued the two parts of the keel together, now one is out of line.

Any ideas how to correct this with out taking the joint parts off.

Hi John

There is a product called Isocole available from the chemist and supermarkets here. It is used for treating pinples

There is a stronger version of that yous should be able to get from the hardware store. I cannot remember the full name of it

When I used it II soak some cotton wool and clamp it to the area that need separating for quit awhile. It will soften the PVA glue so you can detach the parts.

Being thicker wood may take a 20 minutes or so to absorb. You might also need a blade to to help prize them apart.

Be careful not to buckle the false keel

I have some acetone will that do.

Not acetone. Acetone is good for other glues like epoxy resin but not PVA
