CFShipModel 1/150th Nina

Hi Clair

I just did a catch up of your thread to discover the issue you are going through with your Mom and your health. Well, at least I saw smiles and fun in your answers of all the emails we exchanged concerning the Marmara's hull paint. Keep it in that way. Be positive and keep moving with the Nina. For smallest that time it will be, will keep you on the positive mood....as I saw on your emails the last week.

Cheers
Daniel

Just a quick note my friends, work on Nina has resumed. Hopefully within a week or two I will have progress thats worthy of
photographing for your amusement at how horribly I build models. LOL So far its just been small things like a lower stanchion rail
for the aft deck, some weathered oak stain for the decks, and general puttering around. Perhaps yet tonight I might just make up the
main deck caprail before packing it in for the day :) Anything really as I am not looking forward to building a 1/150th scale ladder lol.

I built a wonderful ladder for my Pearl, Clair, and then I found out it was too wide for the hole! Like my daddy always told me, “Measure twice, cut once.” So I said,”Who cares?” and put it in sideways. They’ll have to crawl up and down this ladder, not walk. image.jpg

Hey hey hey ya'll !!!!

Ok I got some pics for you all as she sits now. I kind of fell out of the groove of pics as I build so no in progress
of messing up shots this time. Dont worry, I promise to screw up and hack plenty more with this build even though Im
nearing the end. I'll be turning the masts n such this week and rigging for this ship isn't very involved so it should be
easy to completely wreck !! :p

Oh yeah, first you need the mood music so how about some medieval Rammstein:

And photo's:

Here is the ladder I dreaded building, it is 1 centimeter tall.

I know all this looks grainy however these photos were took at 4X magnification.

Here is Nina with no magnification on my kitchen craptop touchpad to give you another idea just how tiny she is.

Well, plenty more to do but I wanted to share where I am with it now. Im so happy to be back with my friends and
working on my model again.

Thanks all for tuning in and more will come soon,

Clair

Look at me! I'm dancin', I'm dancin'!

Hey guys, sorry I exited stage left to oblivion for the winter, daily life became shall we say difficult at best. My health issues hitting hard
combined with the ol winter blues mixed with many different prescriptions resulted in a deep depression the last few months. Im still in
a funk but finally worked up the courage to at least rear my ugly head once more around here. It's my intention to become active again
with the community and revive my Nina project.

Status of Nina is she's shoved off in a box awaiting decent weather as I do most cutting of wood outdoors. We have snow at the moment but
Im hoping for a few good days soon to haul out the lathe and feel good enough to use it, to turn masts and spars. Then she'll just need some
sails and details before I call it a done deal.

My oldest son gifted me a Trumpeter USS England in 1/350th for Christmas and I have been fiddling with it a little on my better days since
the holidays. There really isnt much done yet but I want to make a ship shape model out of it. There doesn't seem to be much interest in
plastic on SOS so I didn't think a build log would encourage anything except a lone cricket fart in the last row of the parking lot. If there is
interest though, I could whip up a sudo follow along at the ravings of a madman trying to convince himself he can work in plastic too.

So, your most unfavorite mental patient with very little patience is still alive and plans to swim to the shallow end of his own personal
cesspool to rejoin the crew if the crew will have him back. Many rude and obnoxious comments will follow, I hope.

Until next time as my mom always told me, "When life gives you lemons, punch life right in the face for being stupid"

I would love to see you work on your lathe. Any chance of a video? I bought one, but I haven’t had the guts to use it yet.
