I was an instructor at the Combat Crew Training School as well.
So do I, Grant!Good evening. A little progress and some experimentation. Some more yards and spars.

The dead eyes and strops for the futtock shrouds and top masts. I have been experimenting a little. Here is what the Portsmouth Victory looks like :

My initial construction of the Mizzen was to make as per instructions Where there are none and the shroud line goes directly up and around the deadeye-like so :

My “Siren” began to sing...experimented
First attempt- looked nothing like picture above:

I then tried this :
I made some Strops and some hooks for the futtock shrouds using 0.6mm wire. Shaped with needle nose pliers around a 0.5mm drill bit for the strops and a toothpick for the hooks. I think it adds better detail to my Victory. I bound the strop with 0.25mm thread where it passes through the top below the deadeye to secure it to the top.
Broke my railing when inserting these as they need a little manipulation- Eish. Will be easily fixed tho. I quite like them

I remember when you didn't know any nautical/ship terms. Now I can't even track with what you are saying. You're a quick study...
Good afternoon- Heinrich. Thank you really appreciate this. I do think I still have my training wheels onI agree with Paul, Grant! Your exponential learning curve is nothing short of astounding and your rigging work has been exemplary. Boy oh boy, there are a number of superb models being built now and your Victory is squarely among them!![]()
You're doing a top job Grant, but every time you show that diagram of your topmast I get a bit dizzyOk no wonder I could not tie it off nicely: got it totally wrong!!!
A picture seen before- I refer the red arrow. Guess I am going to have to redo.
