I think I was able to get this kit for 100$ and that was with shipping included from Facebook market place. Granted I think this was about a year ago when I got it. It's been on the shelf for a little bit lol.

I have also found this one that I'm looking at and it's not very far from my house. But the lady's father has fallen I'll and she has been taking care of him. Still been waiting on if she would accept my offer.
That had better be a great kit for that price!

I have seen pictures of the restoration and they changed the bottom color to a red and have a blue line at the water line. Now my selina is do I paint to with the green and white or the red and white
That depends solely on the state of construction you want to build/show the ship in. As far as I know, there have been various other changes that I unfortunately haven't followed that closely.

No, sorry... The first GF was built in 1933, the sister ships were Horst Wessel and A.L.Schlageter. H. Wessel went to the USA as reparations. With the G.F. of today they have nothing to do. The current GF was launched in 1958.
Got the main deck finished and sanded down and ended up throwing some Danish oil on it. It makes the seams really pop since on this one I didnt put caulking lines. Got the cabin built that goes under the over hang at the bow of the gorch fock. I had to put some bracing on the inside because it was way too flimsy. It is place and glued and I'll pull the rubber bands off when I'm able to get back to it. Thinking I might put some 2x2 at the bottom of the perimeter of the cabin to help close that small gap.

I was referring to the 1930's Gorch Foch. Between 1962 and 1976 I sailed on USCGC Eagle for 9 summers. Four as a Cadet at the US Coast Guard Academy and five as a Watch Officer while assigned as a Navigation Instructor at The CG Academy. The last time I saw the Gorch Fock was at the Windjammer Parade held in Kiel in 1972 in connection with the infamous 1972 Olympics. My point was that if I had that kit, I would have converted it to the USCGC "Eagle"

Yeah at this scale it would be almost impossible but looking at some of the pics of the gorch fock you dont really see treenails in the decking.
