i did some Mish-Mash with my description , i meant that i glued the bulkheads into place ,and the deck pices together not to the skeleton itself .

I saw some one made a rope making machine and as well as brainding machine our of Lego.
He even selling the instructions for making them.

Some brief history of the Montañés (Wikipedia):

Montañés (class) was a 74 gun third-rate Spanish ship of the line.
Design was prepared by Julián Martín de Retamosa ,Following José Romero y Fernández de Landa's system under which the San Ildefonso class had been built.
Ordered in November 1792
Launched in November 1794
She was much faster than other ships of the same era, reaching 14 knots downwind and 10 knots upwind.
In 1795 she fought a French force of 8 ships of the line (including one three-decker) and 2 frigates single-handed in the bay of San Feliu de Guíxols - thanks to her superior speed, the Montañés managed to get within range of a coastal artillery battery, forcing the French to break off the chase.In June 1805 she was put under the command of Captain Francisco de Alcedo and made part of Alcalá Galdiano's division, defending Cadiz from a possible British attack. At the Battle of Trafalgar she was assigned to the second division of Gravina's squadron. the ship lost only 20 dead including the capitan and his deputy, and 29 wounded in the battle. And was able to recapture the Santa Ana and Neptuno after their capture by the British.

I have finished also the 2nd half today and now in the process of gluing them in place.

Doing some test run with tree nils for the planking .

Good morning,
So i decided to go with the update now as the wasit deck is finished.
It turned to be very nice so i wanted to share it with you now.

So while i waited to the glue to dry completely i made test run to check
how driling and filling the tree nails witch CA glue simulation will turn out.

I didn't drill all the deck,only the visible area that will be seen after the quarterdeck deck will be lay down.

After i completed to drilling filling and sanding the deck i lay 2 coats of Teak oil leaving the openings untouched so i can glue the greatings more easily.IMG_20240427_205148.jpgIMG20240427205055.jpg

And of course there's must be a problem .

@gene438 did you encounter the same alignment problem with deck and foercastle by any chance ?

No real alignment issues so far, I did have to drill out the forward mast hole ever so slightly as it was rubbing on the frame below the first deck... I will do an update later on my thread, but be very careful on gluing the 1st and 2nd gunports. I had to sand a lot of frames to get everything to lay flat and smooth. Today I am going to sand and do some wood filling.....I am assuming the quality of installing the gunports will dictate the quality of the hull planking so I am taking my time.

Your deck is looking very good......

Good afternoon Gents ,
After a week of planking i have finished the Quarterdeck and foercastle deck planking .
First i've fixed the lining of the fore castle deck with the fore castle .

And of course after i have completed the planking i came across two problems, a short circuit and two leds burned and needed to be exchange.
So after hard work to open the planks that coverd the wires and pinpoint the short circuit location i manged to rewire it and replaced the two leds.

Teak oil will be applied after that i will place all the things that needs to be glue on the deck.

Also i recived the first upgrade , Amati copper plates 10 packs , 5180 copper tiles total.

Looking good, tough break on the led's burning out...but better it happened now than 6 months down the road. I'm still on the fence about coppering but I am interested in how you like working with the Amati plates when you have completed.
