Montañés by Sevish - OcCre kit

So to continue with my venture,
I glued the first bulkhead and let it dry
View attachment 446071View attachment 446072

LEGO square are the best !

And then i glued the rest of the bulkheads.
letting it dry with the deck to align the bulkheads correctly eliminating the belly from the bow part of the skeleton.View attachment 446073

Yes i stapled the deck it actually worked! drying time.
Happy and excited i glued the 2nd half of the bulkheads in to place and then placed the 2 deck pieces to align the bulkheads and alsot stapled those pieces (i didn't guled the deck into place at this time).

Your Montanes is a great looking kit! I am looking forward to watching your progress!

Looking good, tough break on the led's burning out...but better it happened now than 6 months down the road. I'm still on the fence about coppering but I am interested in how you like working with the Amati plates when you have completed.
Indeed , lucky me :)
I'm hoping that working with Amati plates will be much easier than caldercraft ones with the overlaping.
but there's still time for this , I will start with the port guns this week .

and 2.5 mm brass gun balls.
vallejo ice yellow, red, black , white and liquid metal gold
Are those paints for airbrush only or can you brush it on? Have you used that brand before? I would be interested in your review of them?

Vallejo is a well known brand, excellent acrylic based paints.
There are few paint lines there the model air line specific for airbrush ready to use, and basically can also be applied by brushing the paints.
the other lines are for brushing but also can be used with airbrush after proper thinning the paint.
to comper with OCCRE's paints
those are superior with lare paint catalog.
also good company with acrylic paintints are Ammo MIG paints and AK Paints.

I saw these paints in my local store, but I did not know they could be brushed on....I will now try them.

In general light paints like yellow and white are harder to brush.
Make tests with one dark paint and one light paint to see the outcome and how thy behave.
Good luck.

Long time...
I whanted to finish few things for this update.

In This build i decided to invest in more prep time for the hall so baow and stern filled with balsa wood to support the planks and for easy planking.

And i decided also to change the wire location for the stern wiring IMG20240601194635.jpgIMG20240601201856.jpg

Next is the greating on the Quarterdeck deck, for now it only the beams , the pillars will be added only after the guns placment.

Next are the gun ports
taking also care on them, making sure that the ports align are more accurate.
IMG20240602211810.jpg
IMG_20240605_213051.jpg
I also made plankin on the open waist deck gun ports fro the inside
IMG20240609161206.jpg

For the fore castle gunports i added a 3rd gun port.
taking measurements for the position.and opening the hatch.IMG_20240611_095852.jpg

IMG20240609164958.jpg

And completed with all the gunports

IMG_20240610_175635.jpg

And my last tools addition, the AL micro shapers sets, very hard to get the the three sets all together together close to the MSRP price and and a store that willing to ship to Israel with reasonable shipping cost. (the store sent with EMS )

Good afternoon Guy. Those fillers and the hull fairing is looking very good. Will certainly make the planking easier and ensure perfect symmetry. Cheers Grant

After intensive 3 weeks of work
I have finished to make the pices of the officers gallery quarters.
All redone from walnut wood and the
pillars i made with the AL micro shapers and the windows are made with micro kristal klear.

My result

I didn't make an actual windows deliberately because there will not be LEDS,only in the rear of the gallery.

Next update after completing all the gallery deck.

Cheers

Good morning Guy. Lovely. I am impressed with the scraping of the pattern into your walnut pillars. I find walnut very soft and it does not hold the pattern as well as harder woods. You got your really good so kudos. Cheers Grant

Thank you.
The pattern making wasn't so difficult as the holes for the handles , on the doors.
Much more trickier with multiple drill bits to prevent the wood from splitting with this wood thickness.
