HMS ENTERPRISE 1774 by RichardJJS 1:48 scale. New Kit from M.D

you asked me why it gets trimmed down and where.
If the figurehead doesn't fit, you can do things to make it fit.
I'm sorry if you feel I mislead you.
I've not tried the figurehead on mine yet because I'm no where near the point to attach it. I don't want to take it out of the protective packing.
Not Misslead I think my question was not good
Where do i trim it down to on the plan enclosed
Thanks

I would suggest to slow down with the build
not sure what you mean
I cannot understand how much needs taking of the Cutwater so used the figurehead as a guide into the Cutwater
It does sat 4 - 4.5 mm but not how deep or how far down the stem
Been told down to the Gripe
Only Built a bit of the CutWater

The leading edge is tapered all the way down to the gripe which is just above the curve where the cutwater attaches to the keel.
The leading edge should still have a squared off cross section.
I hope I explained that well. :)

Thats fine thanks - by squared off i presume you mean to take the figure head The instructions are rather vague in this matter and of course sharpens the bow for the sea

no, the visible area needs to have squared off corners. Not rounded.
Yes, the instructions have many holes as far as details are concerned. :)

I just put some information on the hawse pieces on my forums that is not detailed in the instructions.
If there is something I say that you don't understand, don't hesitate to ask me to explain.

Hi Jeff
Found these from Arban
Ist shows the lower part - looks as though he used a strip of Masking tape to show how he cut the slot correctly
But his Cutwater does not show if its been cut down
any ideas please

Have decided to start on the Stern
It talks about triming it down to 3mm
I realise its from the top of
How far up Stern Deadwood Does it go
Ive cut too much off the bow Dont want to do the same
Then we put on part G1 etc and trim down to 4mm
I presume its to take the planking up to the stern post
Thanks

It tells you on the right hand side of the diagram to use the template L6-1 as a guide

During the production process and packaging sorting, we have incorporated 4-5 inspection procedures to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the parts. If the parts are damaged due to transportation or customs inspection, we also provide replacement services, so it is highly likely that our products will not have a parts list
Lovely customer care as usual!

It's not mentioned in the instructions, but there are 2 templates. One goes on the bottom and one goes on the back and they will give you the taper. :)
They are L6-1 and L6-2
