Triumph Tr6, 3d printed large scale

Thank you russf. Yes the tr6 con rods are angled. You actually researded it more than I did. The cast effect is a mix of both print process and a not very good paint job. But I do like the effect! As for the tapped holes, I printed the basic hole ( tap drill sized hole), in most cases .040" dia for a 00-90 bolt and tap the holes after curing.

Another amazing aspect of your models is the apparent short time between design and production. It's really a pleasure to follow your work François.
 
So the head is painted with a little bit of oil weathering added.

I had a plan all laid out for the valves but as is often the case, my plans don't always work. My intention was to "machine" a groove in the valve stem to receive a circlip but since I don't have a lathe, it was very difficult to make the grooves identical and at the same place on all 12 valve stems.

I need to have all the stems as equal as possible so the rockers align properly. So I ended up removing the circlips which was used to hold the valve spring and replaced them with a flat headed pin which is inserted and glued in the valve stem. I did a test to see if this new arrangement worked before doing 12 new valves. It worked great!

I've been busy this week.

I wired the starter motor. And made the transmission.

I also printed, painted and assembled the transmission. Not 100% satisfied with it, I still need to tweak the clutch a little.

So the engine and transmission are assembled together and mounted on a temporary rack to facilitate the rest of the wiring and hosing and other detailing that is still do to. The clutch is in and functionning, I glued 1200 grit sand paper to the face of the flywheel and clutch pressure plate so that the flywheel can drives the main shaft.
