Hello Allan,This is a little confusing, at least to me. Petersson's drawing appears (and I may not be seeing this right) to have the main stay collar going over the bulkhead at the bow and down and around the sprit. As it is based on an actual model I am guessing he shows it as was done on the model. By the same token, Lees states that it led through a hole in the beakhead bulkhead and went under the sprit then secured as can be seen in the model from Preble Hall below. Were both methods used depending on the ship/size etc?
