Gerard Delacroix, also member in our forum with @G. DELACROIX just announced the early release of a
new 1:48 planset

24-prd French frigate "L'Egyptienne" built in Toulon in 1799 by François Caro

Gerard agreed to use his text and photos, so please look at this Beauty:

I am pleased to announce you the beginning of the subscription for a new monograph.
It's a book about the rare 24-prd French frigates of the eighteenth century. The ship chosen is "L'Egyptienne" built in Toulon in 1799 by François Caro. The national collections retain two models of this frigate that have been of great help in the development of this monograph. As usual, all the framing, fittings and equipment are represented as well as the masts, sails and details of the rigging.
The booklet has 216 pages with many drawings in 3D and about sixty photos of the museum models. The plans folder contains 39 particularly detailed 1/48 plates.
The page of this monograph is here:
L'Égyptienne

I personally got the information by Gerard, that in the beginning the french version of the booklet will be released. He is planning to make an english and maybe spanish version.
When these translations are available, everybody who bought the french original can get, on request, the translation as a pdf. In my opinion a very good service! Thumbs-Up

I just remembered, that I made some time ago a detailed history of the

French frigate Égyptienne (1799) - later fifth-rate frigate HMS Egyptienne (1801 - 1817)
and the Forte class

take a look here:

Interesting news. How does look the translation in the pdf ? It´s with illustration like the french orginial ?
We will see, and I am pretty sure, it will depend on the final demand on the not french copies.

with the Rochefort Gerard sent me a pdf english version without the illustrations, which made clear references to the original french booklet.

Take a look at this example of page 32 (left english pdf / right french booklet):

In my opinion and experience absolutely enough and cross reading will be possible without any problem .....

Some small delay occurred, but as I know, Gerard will start with sending of the ordered monographies end of this week.
So we can expect our copies very soon Thumbs-Up

Publication Ancre are first grade:cool:
In principle you are completely right.
But this monograph is prepared and published directly by Gerard Delacroix and not from ancre.
Gerard was working and cooperating in the past with Jean Boudriot and Hubert Berti and made some monographs via ancre.
But since some time he is doing this directly by himself. In the same quality and content of the ancre monographs.

I do not know but somebody in a French forum wrote that after the death of Jean Boudriot and Hubert Berti the Ancre publication was take over by one of the son in cooperation with Delacroix. The son taking care of the $ part of the pub and Delacroix the ship part. So many false news that go around:):):):):)

I know both persons personally.
Hubert Berti was co-author and partner of Jean Boudriot. They founded together ancre. After the death of Jean and Hubert, the son of Hubert, Didier Berti, took over ancre.
Gerard Delacroix was in the past co-author and later author of several monographies, published by ancre. But already some 10 years ago, he started his own business and he is now publishing monographs on his own name and responsibility.

Dear @G. DELACROIX - if I wrote something wrong, or some clarifications necessary, please add

Tanks for the clarification
As I said so many time people that ear something that somebody ear that somebody said and in the end where are the true Question-Mark(false news):):)

Hello,

That's exactly right, for my first monographs and since 1994, I collaborated with ANCRE. In 2006, for the release of the Commerce de Marseille which seems too big and unsaleable for Jean Boudriot, I broke away from ANCRE while remaining on very good terms with them (and even today with Berti' son).
Since then I published my monographs myself, six to date, eleven in all.
For those who bought it, the first shipments of L'Egyptienne monograph will begin next week with, I apologize, some delay due to problems with the printing press.

As I know, some of the customers in France already received their copies - so they are on the way to us Explosion

Hello Uwe,
I just came across this post and am extremely interested in more details on how much this will cost. Who will I have to contact in order to go through the process of ordering the 1:48 planset? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Warm regards,
Raymond
