USS Bonhomme Richard 1779 1:48 [COMPLETED BUILD]

Thank you for answer.
I’m a new ship modeler. The first model of my ship was Corel Vasa (I uploaded the pictures to the presentation "hello from Lithuania"). Now I produce Corel Wappen von Hamburg. I am disappointed with Corel's kits because the drawings are difficult to understand and the ship's details are crooked. I will no longer buy Corel company kits. There are no other ship kits in Lithuania. Therefore, I will have to send kit from other country. I really like Bonhomme richard ship. But its price is very high and I don't know what the drawings look like. If the drawings are clear, all is well.
Maybe you can give to me link, from where you buy Unicorn ship kit?

I bought the kit on Taobao, but it's difficult since everything is in Chinese. But on the links you can see the pictures of the instructions

Also you can find on Ebay or local guys on this forum, they sell chinese kits, I guess they will contact you. It looks like my thread brought to them already several custmers :)

Only one short sentence to the question before
Hello,
I am interested in the Bonhomme Richard ship model for the ZHL company. But nowhere do I find information on the quality of the instructions. Can you tell me if the instructions and drawings are well understood? Are the rigging patterns clear and all knots are shown? I don't have much experience, so in the future I want to buy a boat kit with some very good instructions. Do you think better schemes are for Caldercraft or ZHL companies?
as Oleg mentioned before:
Unicorn Models is the manufacturer of the kit (full ship and also Section models) and ZHL is a manufacturer of other kits, but ZHL is also a dealer of other chinese kits.
So they are offering f.e. CAF-kits, but also Unicorn kits - ZHL is a very reliable, correct and fast dealer
Here is the progress on the topmasts rigging
Very good rigging work - it is looking very good - and I am happy to hear. that you are working with the Boudriot books, which are a great help and correct source to get the necessary information
Short info to Algirdas:
This is the planset Review - I would recommend to buy this also, when you plan to built the model:

Thank you very much for all the info. You have given us a lot of useful information. I want my third ship model to be the most impressive and most beautiful to me. The most beautiful ship model to me at the moment is Bonhomme Richard. Many modelers appreciate the model of the "Victory" ship, but I am sorry that the "Victory" entire exterior of the ship is painted black and yelow and no longer has beautiful wood planks. I am currently producing the largest, most expensive, and most sophisticated Corel company ship model, Wappen von Hamburg I. Soon, I will be creating a shipbuilding magazine for this forum. I saw, that in this forums are very little information about the Wappen ship model. Maybe you'll like it and decide to make this ship model yourself.

Hallo Oleg, the parts, like blocks , rope, metal elements are looking very good.
Is this original in the kit supply or did you change them and bought or produce by yourself?

Hi Uwe,
Most of the blocks are bought separately. Especially because kit doesn't have big range of dimensions and dimensions themselves are awkward (for instance, 4.5mm instead of 4, 5.7mm instead of 5 etc.). All the ropes are of course custom wound by me from Gutermann threads with 0.05mm increments.
Most of the metal is also either custom or bought separately, because kit doesn't have a lot of etched parts. Kit etched parts used are: gunport doors hinges, rudder hinges, metal hoops on lower masts, lower yards and anchors and some other parts. Bought separately parts are: all eyepins, hooks on gun tackles, rings, tubes used for hawses and scuppers. The rest is custom made like the ringbolts ends of the guntackles, railings racks or... I`m sorry I forgot how вант-путенсы are in English, those chains that support the deadeyes under channels

Hello Oleg, your work is an inspiration for many of us. Personally, I am not a big fan of first-rate ships and multi-year projects. However, watching your build and amount of details you showing us, I may consider this in the future. Many thanks!

The photos showing the works at the topgallant - looking great
