In a bit of perfect timing, I received my Alert kit today, on my birthday no less!
My initial impression is ”Damn, this is NICE!!” On reading the instructions, “Damn! These sorta suck!” I’ve had the AoS title for years, and that puppy is gonna get some use.
We moved a couple of months ago, and...
Well it'll be a little bit before I'm ready to go full bore on this project, Have some things I need to finish first. but wanted to go ahead and get a build thread started. In the interest of full disclosure I also want to see what some of the more experienced guys come up with. I hate to button...
Great news, folks!! Today July 27th, 2020, I have purchased the Trident Model Alert kit! The purchase experience was pleasant, straight forward, without hiccups, and took about 3~5 minutes. With this great news, I am officially joining the Alert group build and starting my own build log.

Hello all. In 2019, I bought the damaged and unfinished Alert hull via Allegro on the Internet. Cutter very nicely made sewn in difficult technique until he begged to finish it. Since May 2020, I have been trying to renovate and finish the construction of the Cuter Alert from 1777 based on the...

Well I am setting up my build log for this kit, so I can start posting when my kit makes it in at some point down the line.
Can't wait to order and receive one, and hope I don't have too many vessels in the shipyard to be able to bring this one in when it gets in port.
The La_Cerf's keel was laid in my shipyard in June 2014. In AutoCad I drew the bulkheads with steps in them for the clinker planking, which speeded up the planking with narrowing only in the bow and stern. To provide a larger area of adhesion, the spaces in the stern and the bow are filled with...
Hi guys,
This is my first post. Few years ago I bought Chuck Passaro's kit Cutter Cheerful 1806, for the sole purpose of learning how to "properly" plank ship's hull.
Anyways, hull has been planked, so here are few pictures.
Maybe as many you know Chris Watton is not working for Amati anymore, started his own ship model company Vanguard Models and by the end of May, the first kit HM Armed Cutter Alert 1777 will be released.
