Hi Scott,
It's not a competition my friend. I kinda used to feel that way too but then realized everyone is just at different levels and each and everyone of us has different strengths & weaknesses. Trust me, I marvel at a lot of the builds on this site and many are miles ahead of me in the quality of their builds and I wish I had their abilities!!!!!
Just keep plugging away on your builds my friend and just have fun because that is all that matters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A simple metal urinal, the piss-dale was such an integral part of sailors' lives that Edward Ward chose to include it on the very first page of his description of common sailors in the satirical The Wooden World Dissected:

The piss-dale was located near the ladder to the quarterdeck, as illustrated in the widely reproduced 1728 engraving 'A Ship of War of the Third Rate'[13]:

This is exactly how I feel too. I am amazed everyday at the skill and the quality levels, and the detailing on the builds I see every time I log in. It just gives a little push in the right direction when I go back to my build and hopefully the same for you.
 
I would rather say, it cannot be ANY better! Is she a commissioned build, Rick, or intended for your private collection?

Just a quick post showing the Binnacle progress. Nothing attached permanently at this point as I am still doing some work at the Stern. I will attach a picture of the 2 lanterns inside the Binnacle lighted up at a later time.

Hello everyone,
Got a little time to work on the model and I got multiple things going on at once. I corrected the Stern and Cap Rail. I will explain on a upcoming posting. The other item I am working on is the construction of two signal Flag lockers. All ships have these Lockers in some shape or form. Since this ship was of direct use by the Monarchy and made numerous diplomatic excursions to foreign countries, one can be sure of needed international signal flags along with the standard naval flags of the time period. Since there is no drawing or sketch of the lockers, I decided to ablibe and create my own interpretation. The lockers are still under construction and much more work is to be done and I will post more pictures as I progress.
