Stunning JackNow we're suckin diesel! The missus is over the water for the week, lecturing to the English, so I have been left to my own devices. As well as my devices I got to put a good shift in on the Scarborough. I finished the work around the bow and added the faux masts. then the long job of fitting the broadside guns and their tackles.
All this means that we are down to the last few bit and pieces then think about a display stand. The last headache I can see will be the sweep port lids and I will leave them to last as I expect they will be easy to knock off unless I can drill and pin them without the pins being seen.
Here are some photo's of my progress.

Thank you Heinrich, still a lot to do, but it's growing on me.What a beautiful model, Jack! You have done yourself proud!
BeautifulI got one final bit done today before I have to go. The kit comes with three stern lanterns and I was tempted to add them all, but to my knowledge only forth rate and above had three lamps. And even then, unless you are the flagship with an admiral onboard, you could only use the outer two. Anyway for now I have added this one. Only thing is it is hexagonal in shape and octagonal would have been better. I will look out for one.

great progress, looks beautifulHave reached a bit of a landmark, so, I thought I would post a few pictures. While quite a bit from the finish I have just about added the last detail I am going to put on Scarborough. A lot of touching up and adjusting to be done,(not to mention making a stand). Cheers from a sunny,(rare) day in Northern Ireland. JJ..

Jack, I’ve followed but not commented on your build up until now. I am in awe at what you’ve achieved, I couldn’t even consider building to your standard but you do inspire me to try harder. Thanks for showing me what is possible. KenHave reached a bit of a landmark, so, I thought I would post a few pictures. Thanks Paul, I have found it hard getting my head around the larger scale but pleased enough so far. This whole build is just so impressive Jack!
Thank you Shota, although my efforts pale compared to your beautiful Alert. JJ..great progress, looks beautiful
Thank you Uwek, I even turned around the galley flue as you advised. JJ..great overall appearance of your model -
on your model I like the paint job very much
It would be the Speedy for me Heinrich, I thought I would like this build because there would be no rigging to get right, but strangely I missed it. Aren't we a strange lot? Mind you not as strange as the next build I am thinking about. Here's a clue; what was the most prolific type of ship used by the Royal Navy in both world wars? What a beautiful model with a truly unique paint job and color scheme. You are making it difficult for me to choose a favorite among all your exquisite builds. HMS Speedy was always a front runner, but now I'm not so sure!
