LE CENTAURE 1782 Scale 1/36

April 2015 I started with the construction of the model and soon realized,
" that is a big think" .
I wanted to present it as a cross-section model with complete interior design,
in the style of my model of "Bonhomme Richard".
On some whim I finished the construction Oktober 2016,
all nicely packed and mothballed.
I still want to show the images of the construction protocol,
and have the hope that it will eventually be built further.
The sequence of images extends over a period of eighteen month in the time-lapse mode.

Hallo Karl,
many thanks for sharing with us these photos of this project - You are showing us once more your high quality of modeling.

Thumbs-UpThumbs-UpThumbs-Up

Great work and a very interesting project, with the half vessel in bigger scale of 1:36 (a little bit a "monster")
- very interesting is the photo with the comparison of the scale 1:36 and 1:48 - so did you started making also a 1:48 version? or it was the way to make a decision in which scale you want to build the complete model?
Which kind of timber you are using for the hull structure? Is it pear or elsbeere?
And is this the status of the model now? - she would deserve it to be once finished ....... Thumbs-Up

Hello Uwe.

Originally the 1/48 scale was planed, but it was a bit to small for me.
Scale 1/36, my Admiralty was quite irritated by the new size,
the result of it, first stop construction.

The wood species of the frames / hull is cherry (Kirschbaum)
Exterior planks are made of teak / Teakholz
as well as dark wood stain

The last picture is the current state of the construction.
