Armed Virginia Sloop (Model Shipways) 1:48 [COMPLETED BUILD]

Very beautiful and neat assembly of the ship! I don’t know why, but I’m interested in such small ships - sloops, cutters, schooners, Hayling Hoy... I’ll have to build something similar somehow :)
Good luck with your project!

Finally finished mounting the gun carriages. Still need eyebolts in the deck to pull the gun back. After spending 4 days working on these tiny things I'll never talk about about tying ratlines again!! ROTF

The hardest part for me was making the rope coils. Drove me crazy for two days. Just couldn't get them made correctly.

It finally came to me to 1) coat the end of the rope with CA and coil it before the CA dried.

Then 2) use double sided carpet tape to hold the rope in place and the coating with CA glue before pulling them off.

The mounted everything.

I need some assistance please. I started back to work on the hull a couple weeks ago and almost finished. The last thing I am doing is installing rigging eyes and some with blocks. When I finish I'll send some update photos of the hull. Then I will start on the rigging.

What I don't understand...
sheet 6 says 'to belay point' is shown on sheet 4 (below). Does this line go to the cleat (below image) labeled 'Boom Sheet'? Thank you. Rob.

Finally finished. Took quite a while, but had several delays during the build. Between construction and rigging, I sure like construction better. Rigging is so tedious and the glue on my fingers keeps pulling the lines away from where I put them. I tend to build to what looks good to me rather than to make it look historically correct. Model ship build is so much fun. Well, most of the time. :)
