Belle Poule 1780 1:72 - Sail and Sail Model by zoly99sask

Hello all

Planking is slower than I expected,one important advice for those who chose to build this kit,the planks are laser cut to shape and size(width) but not with 100% accuracy by purpose.They were cut a little bit wider to have room to shape them until they fit properly .So lot of sanding going on.

Very nice Zoltan - I also see that the clamps are very helpful in obtaining a nice fit. I do not have any clamps like this at all. So shall I ask where did you get these from? I am sure that others might want to know too.

ps. looks like one of the words stamped on the clamp is Wolfcraft ? What about the blue ones?
 
Donnie, for the long blue clamps you will find the info on post #139 of the thread.

The blue nose ones were bought at Princess Auto Canada

The photos of the finsihed model by Sail and Sail are a very big motivation, or?
Very good work on the planking job
In the past I used also only wooden glue and had to wait - now I am using wood glue only for 2/3rd of the glue dotts, 1/3 I use the superglue / Instand bond (thick) by Tidebond - especially for wood extremely good results - a short time for correction, but after 30 sec or 1 minute the plank is really fixed
Order on e bottle and try it
 
Hi Zoly. I trust it's the photograph that casts shadows but the fifth plank from the bottom - port side (stem) - is not fitting nicely. That picture would suggest it needs either edge beveling and/or narrowing
