Well, actually, (even though I know you are being humorous about it) --- I was thinking of using some type of grease, but I'm not sure. I have some "Super-Lube" brand which is a semi-clear thick grease. It might help fill in any remaining loose tolerance of the steering gearbox. However, not sure if the plastic will like it. The downside of using grease is that it will put more load or tension. (in other words, it will make the gearbox harder to turn or operate).
To further explain: The Gearbox is the component under stress operating ALL the functions from the steering wheel to the tie rods, front end steering mechanism, etc. So, all the components in the chain need to be as free-turning as possible and not bind.
Why am I doing this? Why not - - I guess just to see if I can do it.
