Bugatti Type 35B [COMPLETED BUILD]

Thanks Alan - I used Super-Lube which is compatible:

Onward to the final construction of the Gearbox. Two modifications:
1) I added a brass tube for rigidity from the firewall to Gearbox.
2) I made (out of brass sheet) a shim that has a "Slot" in it. This configuration allows the gearbox head coupler from floating in and out of the Gearbox and helps with stability.

Well, I knew that the steering column near the firewall would not make it and I was right. It snapped right off. So, the portion of the shaft was replaced with Brass Tube.
Also, I noticed that the front end was not quite "forward enough," evidenced by the fact that the front end "tabs" were not lining up with the front Springs. I got that corrected; otherwise, the control arm would have been too long. Now, it all lines up correctly.
Then I installed the Tie Rod.

Now, the exhaust pipes leave little to be desired, and yes, I know they will be down below where they will not be seen, but given the opportunity, I replaced the middle section of the pipes with Aluminum Tubing. It was a perfect fit.

I used the Lathe to cut off the section not needed. I then made a reduced shaft about 10mm long so the shaft would fit inside the Aluminum Tube. The cross slide of the lathe and tool bar and cutting tool had to be carefully adjusted as the 90 ° angle of the exhaust had to clear while it was turning.

well, the Bugatti is finished. At some point, I gave up on documenting (taking photos) as the Body work was just too tedious and sometimes frustrating to worry about a camera.
So, there were many times, I had to modify a part over and over to make it work. The steering mechanism was rebuilt about 5 times before I was satisfied with it - therefore, if I had taken pictures of the entire process, it would have been very confusing - and also, I have to admit, it cut down on building time.

So, here are some of the "build log" images I got to before deciding to end the progress - my apologies. If you intend to build this model, I can offer some tips.

beh, la Bugatti è finita. Ad un certo punto, ho rinunciato a documentare (scattando foto) poiché il lavoro sul corpo era semplicemente troppo noioso e talvolta frustrante per preoccuparmi di una fotocamera.
Quindi, ci sono state molte volte, ho dovuto modificare una parte più e più volte per farla funzionare. Il meccanismo dello sterzo è stato ricostruito circa 5 volte prima che ne fossi soddisfatto - quindi, se avessi scattato foto dell'intero processo, sarebbe stato molto confuso - e anche, Devo ammetterlo, ha ridotto i tempi di costruzione.

@rtibbs - This model is very precise and the parts fit very well - very good design. It just depends on how far you wish to modify the model - just like any other thing.
My downfall was not reading further into the instructions for a few unwanted surprises - in other words, some of the steps might could have been done in another order. But, overall - I do suggest this model if anyone is interested.

Very shortly: Frame beams laser cut of 0,5 mm brass and soft soldered together. Rims cast of polyurethane resin, as tires, but flexible resin used for them. Axles are combination of brass & machinable plastic parts, installed together using M1 bolts and nuts. Working differential with small bewel gears. Engine glued together using parts cut of machinable plastic ( https://automotive.sika.com/en/solution-products/advanced-resins/sikablock.html.) Different parts made of brass, steel, aluminium, plastics etc. Body panels 0,3 mm aluminium sheet.

If people are interested, I could start a short build blog of her and show some photos taken during building phase.
