We do, Tom at CAF is currently finishing up the internal structure, including all decks and cabins, should be released in a month, sections 5 and 6 have gone to production. I was intrigued by the complete internal structure on this. Should be an interesting build. You can contact Tom directly at CafBonjour, sauf erreur de ma part cette construction est constitué des sections 1 à 4.
A -t-on des informations sur la mise à disposition des sections 5 et 6.
Hello, unless I am mistaken, this construction consists of sections 1 to 4.
Do we have any information on the availability of sections 5 and 6.
Thanks.
Tom sent the missing part right away. and I received it yesterday, unfortunately he sent the wrong sheet, the sheet I needed has a stem part and keelpost ports, so he is resending. Only took 2 weeks to receive it. Oh well, the rest of the kit has been fabulous, and I still have 39 frames to keep me busy!Hi Paul looks really very impressive I hope this continues. As a an enthusiastic fan and future buyer of this kit, I hope Tom adds the missing parts right away in future kits. There is nothing more frustrating than missing parts in a kit even if they are forwarded.
Paul, the best way I found was to fasten a thin wood strip along the frames, and mark with a pencil the amount of wood to be sanded in each frame. It is not a highly accurate method but it works perfectly if applied slowly and carefully, checking the results all the time.Folks, who has the best way to take the angle for the cant frames, and sand the to the correct angles? Thank you, Paul
Luiz, thanks, Im talking about the inside angle as they mount to the keelpost and hawse frames closer to the bow. I have used rabbet strips for the outside angles, prior to planking if thats what you are referring tooPaul, the best way I found was to fasten a thin wood strip along the frames, and mark with a pencil the amount of wood to be sanded in each frame. Yes, I understand we are talking about the same thing.Luiz, thanks, Im talking about the inside angle as they mount to the keel post and hawse frames closer to the bow. I have used rabbet strips for the outside angles, prior to planking if thats what you are referring too
That is pretty interestingPaul, I have not used this setup but I think this gantry system as outlined in Ed Tosti’s book the Naiad is pretty slick. You utilize various 90 degree fixtures and align them at any angle on the framing plan and they align the frames so you can get them perfect?View attachment 370859
