Corona Virus???

My opinion, although not based on facts, is we will probably never get back to "normal", I beleave the world has changed forever and the way it was will not be.
The world will probably have to make the changes necessary for life to continue but differently. Our priorities will change. All of those extras we got used to before may not be as important any more.
Sorry for the rant but rethinking whats important. Am I wrong?
Dave F.

I don't want to talk about the dead.
It is too distressing.
Trust me, I live in Lombardy, the area with the most infections.
If you want to continue living, change your lifestyle.
When you go out to buy basic necessities, you have to wear
surgical masks, latex gloves.
When you get home, leave your shoes outside.
Everything you have bought must be cleaned with denatured alcohol or bleach (HCLO) diluted in water.
Wash your hands often and throw the gloves away.
I know it's heavy, but so you're sure you're not infected.
God help us.

We can’t buy surgical masks anywhere

Since this all began, the air quality has improved dramatically with the reduction of air travel and automobile use etc. Sadly, I am quite convinced that after it is all over, every country in the world will just go back to polluting the atmosphere again, and things will soon be pretty much as they were. I wish it could be different, but I fear that nothing will have been learned, and nothing will change! :(

your right Bob once we get the all clear everything will soon be forgotten and life will go on. It kind of has to the world social structure is like a huge cargo ship it takes miles to turn it around, you just cant turn it on a dime.

It would be something if the ceaner air got rid of the virus. As it is respiratory, I have always suspected that pollution was helping it to get a hold acrsoss the world, but I don't really know what I am talking about - but do hope it goes soon!

Another big problem is that the young "Eco Warriors" have largely got what they were campaigning for in an enormous reduction in the burning of fossil fuels, But they may not like what they have got, now that they have an idea of the effect it will have on their lives if they can push their demands home.. I would not be surprised if when it is all over they abandon their cause and there will be no-one to carry on the campaign.

I think we Baby-Boomers have had it exceptionally good. Historically a temporary blip. It will take years if not a generation to recover the confidence let alone pay for this "World War 3" The exaggerated consumption and "self" over society was artificial and nature is re-stabilizing. There is a lesson- appreciate and be happy with what we have - life is precious and so are our loved one. Good health to all.

Just returned from supermarket.
Everyone inside shop distancing and polite. Loaded car up and took trolley back. There was a que, so I offered mine to a guy at the front. 'I don't want THAT!'
Anyway at the trolley park there was a girl sanitising the handles (there was no one doing that when I got mine). I was masked and wearing gloves soaked in Dettol, which I pointed out to this guy.
He went APE.
'THEY DON'T WORK MATE. IT'S NO GOOD GOING ROUND SCARING PEOPLE. IT'S OLD GITS LIKE YOU WHO HAVE IT THE WORSE!'
Charming.....my guess he was local LOL.

Other than home, the only place I've seen the inside of since this all began is the grocery store. It seems to be the one unavoidable risk. However our local grocery stores have what appear to be excellent protocols in place, so I'm hoping the risk is minimal. I'm going to a different store than I usually do because it is the largest, with the widest isles and is the easiest one to avoid close proximity to others.

When we needed some things from a hardware store we used Canadian Tire. It's a national chain and not normally my favourite place to shop. I swear the clerks are trained not to make eye contact and how to disappear when they catch sight of a customer. However, I have to give them credit - they currently have an excellent excellent system in place. You order your items on-line. An email tells you when they're ready for pickup. You phone when you get to the store and a clerk brings them out to the car and places them in the trunk. It worked extremely well. I'm sure others have made use of this type of service at other stores as well. I really appreciate having it available.

My daughter has a law practice and she and her staff are all working from home connected to each other via laptops. She was consulting with a client the other day on Facetime or Zoom or something like that, when her four year old son came into camera range and said "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I have to pee and I need help washing my hands." Fortunately, the client saw the humour.

Stay safe and I wish everyone the stamina required to weather this.
David

Pug - I know what you mean. At the store where I work we are taking major precautions. It's a small store so we only allow 1 customer in at a time, we go get what they want ring it up and bag it; all while wearing masks and gloves. Had a guy come in the other day ranting and raving about how what we are doing doesn't do a darned thing because our gloves could be contaminated, the product could be contaminated by whoever put it in the box or on the shelf, etc. etc. etc.. I took one look at him - an older guy - no form of protection at all, when I pointed this out he started to get in my face and I just about had to physically push him away. It seems like there are 2 kinds of people out there - those that take precautions and do it on their own - and those who don't give a crap about other people then complain that the gov't. isn't doing enough and expect everybody else to protect them.

Lately I hardly leave home anymore.
The food is brought to me by the shopkeepers, before bringing it into the house I clean everything with bleach (NaClO) chemical formula diluted with 30% water
Chlorine manages to remove all bacteria.
Surgical masks are cleaned with alcohol vapor.
I only go out to the pharmacy.
They will return to normal life when they find a vaccine

Like 9-11, & the Bail out, everyone will forget till the next one. I’m buying 2 high level haz mat suits fir me and my daughter. Lol
I gotta say, we never got so much cleaned out, organized, re modeled before. Lol. I’ve been wrapping up so many projects. If this wouldn’t have hit, I wouldn’t be here, it gave me 3 days to set up my ship building shop.
