It's still fascinating how you continue to develop the parts, with trial and error improvements and the energy to create a new print, Marco.I created some supports and cheated a little with the shape: you cannot see them in the model once the lot is bonded together. So simple is best. Goal was to create sturdiness. Interesting times: it is rather a complex assembly. I will print the two deckhouse halves upside down, so that the actual deck will be smooth (I have a smooth print plate). The flash guard and the bridge will be done in resin. End of tomorrow or perhaps day after I'll show the results.

Partly, as having the flat surfaces on the print plate mostly prevent including self locators. But where possible, yes. And a few small strips of glued in styrofoam here and there help. But it’s a chore.Do you use any self-locating features in your build? As soon as I neglect those, I run into problems of not being able to align parts properly. (This was also a huge pain in the, well wherever, for my Fokker DVII kit; limited to none locating features.)

Nice picture, Marco. A dog in the house offers a lot of distraction and variety. You might think I’m “dead in the water “, but no worries. Just slow going and not a lot to show.
And I decided to do a little side job. This scratch build model started out as a bouvier, became a dobermann, but I lost some leg spacers.
Still as fierce as a dire wolf, though.

Clarity and freedom. Enjoy your next adventure, Marco!I have been thinking (uh oh) and found myself looking at that model ... like "work" ... so basta!
The reality of things is that this is the third time I started on D805. The first was just not good enough, the second was a drama (finished, thereafter resin leaking all over it, binned), and this one is like "but I will get it done". But if there's one lesson I've learned after retirement, is that I have no obligations to finish something that doesn't give me energy.
Ah! What clarity!
So I am calling it quits. I will not throw away the work I've done, but I will deep store it, where it will sit nicely next to a Hawker Typhoon (I wanted to half open it up, although the manual stated to not try this). But this is not making me happy. This is mumbling "ye Gods, another chore". So, finito.
What I am going to do will be a surprise, but will be shown on SOS.
Do I feel disappointed? No. This is the freedom I have been looking for during 42 years of "career making". Not making me happy or creating energy? Be gone. Or as they say: "Tabee"! (pronounced tah-bay, meaning "farewell", going back to the Indonesian "tabe"). And no I'm not going into the East Indian period of our history. My babu just used to say that.
On to the next NEW adventure. I'm probably not good at repeating histories.
My respect for your your decision Marco. Also after my retirement the quote ‘I must’, is almost out of my glossary. And building something against your will has nothing to do with a hobby anymore.I have been thinking (uh oh) and found myself looking at that model ... like "work" ... so basta!
