I hav'nt received my order for guns of second battery, also I'm testing a port-lid prototype :

What is the differences between the upper and lower photo?
Usually the lids are appr. 30° up the horizontal, not much higher.
This angle is defined by the maximum possible angle caused and defined by the rope for opening the lid, and here most the location of the hole in the hull through which the rope is going. Technically it will be not possible to open the lid more than shown in the sketches

I just checked the conetnt of the planset of the Saint Philippe.
The decks are high enough, so that the rope for the lids can be installed relatively high.
and you have several cross sections shown with the lids open - so you have all necessary information there

I have to follow the height part of the gun ports, and the opening angle is automatically given by the wale rail
The result will look effectively like the plans 19, 20, 21 and 22 etc.
