Grants Xebec 1:60 (using Jabeque Cazador Occre1:60 kit) [COMPLETED BUILD]

Good afternoon. A quiet day and some Xebec time. I seated the foremast and the ships boat brackets. Some pics of how the boat looks on the ship.

There is still plenty to do with the ships boat so not glued in yet. I think I will do a lot of the rigging before finalising the ships boat.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
Cheers Grant
Hi Grant, You continue to impress with your build, it really is superb, such quality in your detailing. If I were to be paid to find fault I think that I’d be a poor man. Best wishes for the new year. Ken

Happy New Year Grant, and my best wishes Jack.
Great work, Grant. I wish you a Happy New Year too :)
Good morning Grant, Happy New Year 2024 again, very impressive pictures of your Casador, you are doing a great job.
Looking beautiful , and a Happy New Year for you and your family Grant
Great looking Xebec, now eagerly anticipating the appearance of some sails...
Good afternoon Guys. Thank you very much. It has been a crazy time with little ship building done for myself. May 2024 be a really good year for all of us. Cheers Grant

Good afternoon. Man things are crazy at the office at the moment- still not getting in much Xebec time. I am working on the stays for the foremast. 6 stays on the foremast and I deviated from Peters design as I am running out of 4mm blocks for my homemade violin blocks. I used standard 6mm blocks for the lower ones. I wanted the lower blocks to follow the line of hull (yellow arrow) rather than being horizontal. Sort of worked….
Not my best work , but works for my style with Grants Xebec.

Ah, working on the fiddly stuff. Looks fantastic to me I haven't learned much about it but looking forward to giving it a try on my WB. Looks like a lot of research is involved .

Part shortages force you into improvisations. Still looking very authentic.
Good afternoon Johan. Thanks, I think once I tension and tie off each stay she is going to look better. Yep no more parts or ropes to be bought for my Xebec. N Boer maak n plan.;)

Good afternoon Peter. These Xebecs have an unusual rigging system and each one I have seen differs from the other. It has been fun working out how it all works.
Hello,
this is really good rigging work. Looks very good.
Thank you very much. Seeing your work I still have plenty to learn.
As such, your 'best work' must be rather sensational Grant! Thumbsup
Good afternoon Mark. I’m still looking for my “best work”ROTF. Thanks for the compliment.

Good afternoon Jan. I quite enjoy the rigging. Reading some books on period ship rigging, I am still way off using the correct knots, bindings etc etc. I look at the guys doing some scratch builds and I realize how simplified my work is. It has been fun learning about these Xebecs rigging and choosing which works for my ship.

Cheers Grant
