Grants Xebec 1:60 (using Jabeque Cazador Occre1:60 kit) [COMPLETED BUILD]

Family all deserted me today, Rugby over and none of my mates wanted to ride or play Padel……so 6hrs playing with my little boat:D

Rider and Thwarts.
Occre had 2 6x3 strakes which I cut into 3x1.5mm for the riders and 4x2mm for the Thwarts.

The rider was measured and 2x4 slots for each thwart where measured and cut:

These where glued onto bulkwarks:

The Thwarts are dry fitted as I still need to do some final cutting, angles, sanding and stern work.

The Twarts will be removed as I still need to work on the Stern second platform, seats and space for the helmsman before I insert them.

The small dowels for the thwart supports was make using 2x2 African Walnut rounded on the lathe. Mast bracket was cut from the left over brass from the swivel cannon stencil.

Good morning Johan. It has been a little innovative although I have attempted to get the this as close as possible to the Le Requin boat. Using this diagram and Peters (@Ptèr ) boat. 2DB38640-D853-4077-A2BB-208130FAED02.jpeg
My rudder configuration is totally off tho as I used the Occre Cazador design and E.g I have 8 thwarts not 9. Cheers Grant
 
Yep, another great update! Some modelers look at ship's boats as a necessary element to complete a build and treat them as after thoughts. Not Grant! Thumbsup Great results, close to your objective using the drawing, long, lean, low profile and with Grant's flavor infused. I don't possess skills that would allow me to build such detail on a small boat, so I will most likely leave them out of my build. Which makes me appreciate those who can!

Good morning Ken. Thank you. Your comments and encouragement is appreciated. Ahh, this boat is a bit of a cheat as it is a very large ships boat. It does give one the opportunity to add all these details. It is about 150mm long so not very fiddly. It is more like the 19th century long boat than those tiny barges, cutters, and launches found on the traditional ship. Cheers Grant
