This is a different build from the regular posts here. I enjoy looking at it and I have always had an interest is the WW2 navy and the ships involved. Built the Bismarck, Hood and Norfolk plastic models when I was a kid- like 45 years ago. Very good job thus far.

I like the progress you are going with...It does look like the kit is designed with PE parts as the main components. They (PE parts) look really good. Just to understand, is the plywood structure and PE parts glue on top?

Yes and it can be a nightmare lining them up.

Yep real night mare to do lots of finishing car putty to make it nice I remember

I remember using Tamiya modelling paste in the tube for all the gaps when I built this kit.

Started on the big main turrets first pictures are the wooden frame the followed by the pe cladding I am only showing one as each are identical in construction.

All four main turrets have been clad.
And started on the smaller ones.
And got the propshafts in place.
And portholes.
